Intro

Hello Everyone! This is Cameron with ReadySetRetail. Today, I’ll be showing you how to use our Scheduled Report Feeds. With this utility you can automatically run and deliver saved Heartland Retail Reports via email or FTP. We will be going over setting up a new feed, and how to run feeds to get the report. Use these timestamps to skip to a specific part of the video. All of this information is also available in our support articles on support.readysetretail.com

Setting Up a New Feed

To make a new report feed, you first need to go to app.readysetretail.com and sign in with your username and password.

Next, click on “Utilities” in the navigation bar and then “data feeds”.

This will bring you to a page of previously made feeds with the header of “View Feeds”.

Next, click on the “Add Report Feed” button on the bottom of the page.

Give your new report feed a name, and choose a connection from the dropdown.

Next, select a saved report from the dropdown list. When the report feed runs it will connect to Heartland Retail to run the saved report with its current filters, groups metrics, and so on, so any changes made to the report after creating the Report Feed will be included in the results of the report.

The next dropdown allows you to choose the file format of the report between a PDF document, or an Excel spreadsheet.

The next few options are related to how you want the report sent to you. If you would like it to be sent by FTP, select the checkbox marked with “Send via ftp” and choose what protocall you would like to use. If you would like the report to be sent to you by email, check the box labeled with “Send via email” and enter at least one email address you would like the report sent to.

Next, the feed type should be set to ReportFeed, if you choose another type the utility may not work correctly.

Running a Feed

Now that we have a feed set up, let’s set a schedule for it to run. First, set the frequency. This will allow you to tell the utility to send a report as frequently as every 30 minutes, all the way to up quarterly. Once you set your frequency, choose what time of day you would like it to be sent using the “Time to send (Eastern Time) field.

Now, make sure the “is active” box is checked. If it is not, the utility will not run at all.

Now click save, once that is done your new report feed will send you new reports based on the frequency and time you set. If you would like to run it manually, all you need to do is open the plan back up as if you were going to edit it, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the green “Queue for processing” button. You should receive a report soon after.
